Report on Indigenous Australian and African Women in Mining sessions

Wendy Treasure, Specialist Resources Lawyer, Project Manager at IM4DC (International Mining for Development Centre) has kindly written a report on two events she participated in recently.

“The world of mining is changing to create employment opportunities for women. While mining careers for women in countries like Canada, Australia, the UK, Europe, etc. are far more established and prevalent than 15 or 20 years ago, there is still a way to go for others. In particular, women in Africa and indigenous women in Australia are not yet as visible or senior. Two recent conferences I attended provided some interesting perspectives on how to address that – and some surprising synergies.” Read more
