As an Industry Change Agent, our impact goal is to strengthen the position and presence of women at all levels of industry via global initiatives and programmes which fill a current gap;
This is achieved through IWiM Global Projects such as:
IWRMP, an annual cross-company mentoring programme established in 2018 to promote and empower women to progress their careers, overcome professional challenges and build confidence for achievement and industry leadership;
IWiMSpeakUp, promoting women’s voices in industry meetings, conferences and thought leadership initiatives since 2015 and changing the conversation by increasing the visibility of women across all mining disciplines and geographies; and
WIM Global Exchange, a dynamic collaboration platform supporting the work of international organisations focused on women in resources and affected communities, increasing coordination at local and international levels to accelerate positive impact for women since 2020.
Inclusive Workplace Design, innovative and practical ideas to improve workplace design that benefit everyone working in mining (established 2020)
Photo Campaign, showcasing the variety of roles in which women are employed in mining and support change in cultural perceptions since 2014
D&I Sharing network, building a collaboration platform supporting the work of mining companies to attract, retain and promote women in mining, since 2021
#MiningTogether – Inclusion begins with us, video storytelling to promote gender equality and inclusion in mining, about overcoming barriers and common benefits – 75 video stories on YouTube channel, 2019
Women on Mining Boards, 10-month webinar series designed and recorded in 2015-2016 by IWiM in collaboration with leading experts. This gave women working in mining or covering the mining sector and interested in directorships an opportunity to acquire the tools to achieve their goals.
