The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) is partnering with IWiM on a collaboration with GOXI to initiate a consultation to better define the role of governments and other stakeholders in assessing the gendered impacts of mining prior to project implementation.
How to map available policy tools and case studies, and understanding challenges and potentials in real-life implementation of existing policy tools. In essence how to integrate gender into Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA).
This consultation will feed into the IGF Annual General Meeting, being held virtually from October 20-22, 2020. Information from this consultation will also be used to inform future IGF publications.
