WIM Central America Inauguration
April 2021
On April 8th, 2021 this new WIM Central America organisation was inaugurated through a virtual event uniting gender equality ambassadors within the mining industry from around the world.
WIM Central America is the center for mining education, advocacy and promotion of inclusive, diverse and sustainable workforce. WIM Central America region of influence comprises: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama & the Caribbean.
The event included the participation of Ana Gabriela Juarez, founder of WIM Central America and also several professionals well known for their trajectory in the mining industry such as: Steve Busby (COO Pan American Silver), Patricia Dillon (President of Mining Matters), Fernando Benalcazar (Ex-Vice Minister of Mining in Ecuador), Euridice Gonzalez (Founder of Mujeres WIM de Mexico and Country Manager of Coeur Mexicana) and Jack Lundin (CEO Bluestone Resources).
WIM Central America is supported by volunteers and companies that are passionate about the mining sector. The three main pillar that drive the organisation are: education, advocacy and gender diversity and inclusion. Within the next few weeks working groups will be conformed to establish short, mid and long term action plans for the region same as for each country that is part of the WIM Central America network.
We celebrate this great achievement and milestone and wish the best to the team and members of this new platform that will serve to expand the outreach of diversity and inclusion in the region.

Inauguración de WIM Centroamérica
Abril 2021
El 8 de abril de 2021 se inauguró esta nueva organización denominada WIM Centroamérica a través de un evento virtual que reunió a embajadores de la igualdad de género dentro de la industria minera de todo el mundo.
WIM Centroamérica es el centro de educación, defensa y promoción minera de una fuerza laboral inclusiva, diversa y sostenible. La región de influencia de WIM Centroamérica comprende: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá y el Caribe.
El evento contó con la participación de Ana Gabriela Juárez, fundadora de WIM Centroamérica y también varios profesionales reconocidos por su trayectoria en la industria minera como: Steve Busby (COO Pan American Silver), Patricia Dillon (Presidente de Mining Matters), Fernando Benalcazar (Ex-Viceministro de Minería de Ecuador), Euridice González (Fundadora de Mujeres WIM de México y Country Manager de Coeur Mexicana) y Jack Lundin (CEO Bluestone Resources).
WIM Centroamérica cuenta con el apoyo de voluntarios y empresas apasionadas por el sector minero. Los tres pilares principales que impulsan a la organización son: educación, incidencia y diversidad e inclusión de género. En las próximas semanas se conformarán grupos de trabajo para establecer planes de acción a corto, mediano y largo plazo para la región al igual que para cada país que forma parte de la red WIM Centroamérica.
Celebramos este gran logro e hito y le deseamos lo mejor al equipo y a los miembros de esta nueva plataforma que servirá para expandir el alcance de la diversidad y la inclusión en la región.
