The resource industry’s peak national employer group has awarded top honours to Mining’s People and Capability’s team recognising their outstanding work in gender inclusion.
The Women in Mining strategy was announced the winner of AMMA’s (Australian Mines and Metals Association) Australian Women in Resource Alliance Award at a gala event in Perth this week.
The award recognises the industry-leading strategies that are helping to attract and retain women in the workplace.
Diversity Advisor Penny Hamilton accepted the award and acknowledged the great efforts of the People and Capability team.
“The successful delivery of diversity programs takes a great team effort, and I can assure you we’re a passionate and committed bunch,” Penny said. “It’s that collective effort, coupled with a strong will to make a difference, which drives a culture of inclusive excellence at Thiess.”
At the Queensland Resources Council’s (QRC’s) Indigenous Awards event in Brisbane this week the Oothung (Sisters) in Mining program was announced runner up in the Indigenous Achievement Award category.
Congratulations to the People and Capability team, and the many diversity champions throughout the business for their commitment, passion and efforts.
