Job Summary

Manages strategic customer accounts to deliver sales targets for the Lithium Energy Storage business segments in alignment with Albemarle’s values and sales processes. Develops and implements sales plans with clear account priority coordinating with commercial leadership.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sell Albemarle’s Lithium products and grow sales revenue at key strategic accounts within the Energy Storage value chain (Auto OEM, Battery, etc.)
  • Own the Albemarle customer interface with assigned strategic customer portfolio
  • Maintain and improve market, customer and competitor information
  • Achieve/exceed sales objectives through both revenue & profit through value added selling
  • Take a leading role in developing value propositions with business leaders and supporting functional groups to demonstrate performance improvements and/or value creation for customers
  • Successfully negotiate, implement and secure key/large business opportunities through long-term supply agreements
  • Forecast accurate sales volume and revenues
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships at various senior management levels.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with strategic customer portfolio
  • Translate market plans to actionable tasks and tactics supporting business strategy
  • Develop, teach and apply Challenger Selling tools and techniques
  • Optimize Albemarle internal relationships with business, technical service, S&OP, manufacturing, CSR and finance to maximize rate of success
  • Coordinate/Facilitate cross functional collaboration efforts in support of Energy Storage strategic initiatives (ESG, recycling, next-gen materials, etc.) with Customer team members
  • Develop and maintain customer organization chart, stakeholder profiles, and contact strategies
  • Develop and maintain Sales Account Plans

 

Required Qualifications

  • Seasoned strategic account management skills
  • Basic knowledge of chemical industry and chemical applications; Lithium knowledge preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence across multiple functions of customer organization
  • General economic principles and implications on negotiation strategies (i.e. supply/demand, value/cost in use, etc.)

 

 

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • BS degree in technical or business related discipline – prefer MBA, MS or PhD

Minimum Experience in years

    • Minimum 5 years of sales and commercial experience
    • Experience managing large, strategic sales accounts
    • 5 years of Chemical or Automotive Industry experience required
  • Ability to travel within the US (typically less than 25% of the time)
