WIM Northern Ontario launches Mentoring Programme

Published: 15/10/2015

The Elevate mentorship programme prepares women to make informed career choices in the mining industry, says Women In Mining Northern Ontario president Charmaine Gazdic-Querney.

Opportunity to network and learn about career opportunities

Women In Mining Northern Ontario’s latest initiative is called Elevate.
Elevate is a new mentorship program that gives women in the mining sector – or those interested to enter the industry – access to industry professionals as they discuss important topics to help newcomers get their foot through the mining sector door.

“This mentorship program will provide women with resources – education, networking – to help them make choices in this career,” said Women In Mining Northern Ontario president Charmaine Gazdic-Querney. “Elevate encourages and empowers women to make informed decisions based on the information they get through the program.”

The first event focused on career planning and continuing education.  Future Elevate events will focus on work-life balance, teamwork and leadership.

Tickets for each event can be purchased at the door, or in advance through Women In Mining Northern Ontario’s membership page, and are $15 for members or non- members, and $10 students.
