Mining is gradually ceasing to be a man’s world: women already represent “slice” of the sector
Chile progresses in gender equality as the women participation and permanence in the mining industry workforce increases.
The results of the study “Women and Mining” of the Council of Mining Competencies (CCM) showed that companies are increasingly integrating more female profiles and that today they represent 8.9% of the workforce.
In addition, in order to increase enrollment in technical and professional careers, the CCM recently launched Ser Minería, a platform that guides young people interested in the field and that has a vocational test.
