The role
  • We are seeking an exceptional candidate to support critical functions in the Fire Suppression area, with a comprehensive knowledge and relevant experience in this field.
  • Your role will encompass pivotal tasks, such as providing technical solutions for in-house projects, participating in New Product Development projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • You will be expected to work closely with other departments within the Fire Suppression Business, as well as engineering contacts from various Sandvik equipment factories.
  • Your responsibilities will also include maintaining the Teamcenter database, which requires a thorough understanding of the change management process and design workflow, as well as working knowledge of NX or similar 3D modelling software.
  • You will also participate in product verification and validation testing, including live fire testing, and be knowledgeable in manufacturing and assembly processes relevant to the product area.   • Maintaining Teamcenter database as the engineering knowledge depository
  • Product verification and validation testing, which includes producing original engineering reports
  • Investigate product non-conformance issues
Your profile
  • The ideal candidate for this role shall hold a Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited institution, coupled with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes is a prerequisite for this position, and hydraulic experience is considered desirable.
  • While experience and exposure to the mining industry are advantageous, self-motivation and flexibility, coupled with highly developed time management and interpersonal skills, are the core attributes we seek.
  • The successful candidate must possess a resolute determination to achieve goals, and consistently set and complete targets.
  • The ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment is also crucial.
