DESCRIPTION DU POSTE

ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada est à la recherche d’un mécanicienne de manœuvre qui sera chargé de la conduite des locomotives, en effectuant des manœuvres avec des wagons et d’autres locomotives dans les ateliers.

Principales responsabilités

  • Assure l’approvisionnement en sable, carburant, eau, huile et équipements de sécurité des locomotives;
  • Veille à maintenir un environnement de travail propre et bien ordonné, tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur des locomotives;
  • Est en charge du nettoyage des installations de l’atelier et de la réalisation d’échantillonnages d’eau, parmi d’autres tâches connexes.

Exigences

  • Détenir un diplôme d’études secondaires V ou l’équivalent;
  • Détenir un A.E.C. – Agent de train et l’expérience comme agent/chef de train est considéré comme un atout;
  • Connaissance de base en informatique, notamment au niveau de la suite office, ainsi que la capacité à travailler avec d’autres logiciels essentiels pour nos opérations;
  • Bonne capacité d’apprentissage afin de comprendre et d’appliquer les règlements ferroviaires et les techniques de conduite des locomotives;
  • Bonne vision, capacité de se représenter les choses en trois dimensions et en mouvement, aptitude à distinguer les couleurs;
  • Bonne capacité physique;
  • Bonne capacité de concentration afin de maintenir une attention soutenue;
  • Connaissances en mécanique, en électricité ou en exploitation ferroviaire seront considérées comme des atouts.
  • À noter que le candidat pourra être amené à prendre l’hélicoptère dans le cadre de ses fonctions.

Le salaire de base est déterminé selon le taux prévu à la convention collective en vigueur, soit 45.64$/h. Le salaire pourrait être bonifié par un ensemble d’avantages tels :

ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada is seeking a Shunter Mechanic who will be responsible for operating locomotives, performing shunting with railcars and other locomotives in the workshops.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensures the supply of sand, fuel, water, oil and safety equipment for locomotives;
  • Ensures that a clean and well-ordered work environment is maintained, both inside and outside the locomotives;
  • Is responsible for cleaning workshop facilities and conducting water sampling, among other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Hold a secondary school diploma V or the equivalent;
  • Holding an AEC – Train Agent and experience as an agent/train conductor is considered an asset;
  • Basic computer knowledge, particularly in the office suite, as well as the ability to work with other software essential to our operations;
  • Good learning ability to understand and apply railway regulations and locomotive driving techniques;
  • Good vision, ability to imagine things in three dimensions and in movement, ability to distinguish colors;
  • Good physical capacity;
  • Good ability to concentrate in order to maintain sustained attention;
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electricity or railway operations will be considered assets.
  • Please note that the candidate may be required to take the helicopter as part of their duties.

Benefits

The base salary is determined according to the rate provided for in the collective agreement in force, i.e. $45.64/h. The salary could be enhanced by a set of benefits such as:

ABOUT THE TEAM
ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc.
In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa.
These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia.
Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
