DESCRIPTION DU POSTE

ArcelorMittal Exploitation minière Canada est présentement à la recherche d’un Directeur pour son centre de gestion intégrée des opérations. Ce dernier est responsable d’assurer l’exécution des plans de productions et mettre en place des stratégies pour optimiser la production, la performance et l’efficacité de l’exécution pour toute la chaîne de valeur (Mine, Concentrateur & Concasseur, Usine, Chemin de fer, Port).  Il est le propriétaire des stratégies et de l’amélioration continue du centre de gestion intégrée des opérations.

Principales responsabilités:       

  • Superviser et diriger l’équipe de contrôleurs principaux, contrôleurs et d’analystes dans l’exécution des plans de productions. Identifier, mesurer et expliquer les écarts par rapport au plan. Développer et mettre en œuvre les plans d’actions pour livrer une performance optimale;
  • Suivre et mesurer la performance des quarts de travail, incluant : indicateurs de performance clés de production et de productivité, événements majeurs, planification et performance tactique et stratégique. Concevoir et coordonner l’introduction de tous les indicateurs de performance clés de la chaîne de valeur requis;
  • Identifier les écarts et les opportunités pour l’amélioration de l’efficacité du centre de gestion intégrée des opérations. (Comprenant l’optimisation et l’amélioration des systèmes et outils);
  • Diriger les rencontres (quotidiennes et hebdomadaires) de production et de planification avec les directeurs et chefs de section de la chaine de valeur;
  • Communiquer et collaborer étroitement avec l’équipe de planification intégrée ainsi que les différents départements opérationnels;
  • Diriger et mobiliser l’équipe de contrôleurs principaux, contrôleurs et d’analystes dans l’accomplissements de leurs tâches (recrutement, formation, rétention);
  • Établir et assurer le suivi du budget de son département;
  • Mener les projets d’amélioration et d’expansion du centre.

Exigences :

  • Diplôme universitaire de premier cycle en génie, logistique, gestion d’opération ou toute formation connexe combinée à une expérience pertinente;
  • Plus de 10 ans d’expérience reliée en milieu minier ou industriel et dans les activités de gestion d’opérations minière ou d’usine de transformation;
  • Plus de 5 ans d’expérience en gestion d’équipes;
  • Expérience en centre de gestion intégrée des opérations, un fort atout;
  • Expérience en analyse de données et processus (financier et opérationnel);
  • Expérience en implantation de stratégies de gestion du changement;
  • Forte habilité en gestion de projet et en amélioration continue;
  • Excellente communication en français et en anglais (orale et écrite);
  • Expérience en projet innovant et demandant de la gestion d’équipe;
  • Excellentes compétences en matière de leadership, de communication, de relations interpersonnelles et de service client;
  • Esprit d’équipe et de collaboration;
  • Disponibilité pour déplacement fréquents à Port-Cartier et Fermont.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ArcelorMittal Mining Canada is currently seeking a Director for its integrated operations management center. The latter is responsible for ensuring the execution of production plans and implementing strategies to optimize production, performance and efficiency of execution for the entire value chain (Mine, Concentrator & Crusher, Plant, Railway, Port). He is the owner of the strategies and continuous improvement of the integrated operations management center.

Main responsibilities:       

  • Supervise and lead the team of senior controllers, controllers and analysts in the execution of production plans. Identify, measure and explain deviations from the plan. Develop and implement action plans to deliver optimal performance;
  • Track and measure shift performance, including: production and productivity key performance indicators, major events, tactical and strategic planning and performance. Design and coordinate the introduction of all required value chain key performance indicators;
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improving the efficiency of the integrated operations management center. (Including optimization and improvement of systems and tools);
  • Lead production and planning meetings (daily and weekly) with directors and section heads of the value chain;
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with the integrated planning team as well as the various operational departments;
  • Lead and mobilize the team of senior controllers, controllers and analysts in the accomplishment of their tasks (recruitment, training, retention);
  • Establish and monitor the department’s budget;
  • Lead center improvement and expansion projects.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate university degree in engineering, logistics, operations management or any related training combined with relevant experience;
  • More than 10 years of related experience in a mining or industrial environment and in the management of mining operations or processing plants;
  • More than 5 years of experience in team management;
  • Experience in an integrated operations management center, a strong asset;
  • Experience in data analysis and processes (financial and operational);
  • Experience in implementing change management strategies;
  • Strong skills in project management and continuous improvement;
  • Excellent communication in French and English (oral and written);
  • Experience in an innovative project requiring team management;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Team spirit and collaboration;
  • Availability for frequent travel to Port-Cartier and Fermont.

ABOUT THE TEAM
ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc.
In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa.
These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia.
Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
