The WIM movement represents the liberal feminist demand for equal opportunities for women in the mining industry. It occupies a powerful voice within this industry in regards to offering guidance and advice to mining companies on how to respond to the “problem” of gender. It is, however, currently separated from feminist analyses of the environment and gender.
