Presenter: Dr Lyn Anglin, Ph.D., P.Geo, Anglin & Associates Consulting

Dr. ‘Lyn Anglin previously worked as the Chief Scientific Officer for Imperial Metals Corporation. She was responsible for overseeing the scientific research functions of the Company, including monitoring and advising on basic and applied research projects, and the environmental impact assessment and remediation work at the Mount Polley Mine in central BC.

Title: Mount Polley Tailings Spill – Remediation Update

Six years after the tailings spill at the Mount Polley Mine in central BC, significant progress has been made in remediating the impacted environment. The company has invested on the order of $70 million on extensive clean-up, repair and remediation of the site, including completing environmental impact and risk assessments, planting more than 600,000 native trees and shrubs, and rebuilding and installing new fish habitat in the affected creeks.
