The main contribution of this Roadmap for the promotion of gender equality in the Bolivian mining sector is to support the development of this sector by integrating a gender equality approach that protects women's rights, eliminates inequalities and closes gender gaps, positioning women as active agents in the sustainable development of mining activities.
The document proposes gender-focused instruments to achieve greater equity, address inequalities and promote depatriarchalisation in the Bolivian mining sector. The Roadmap will serve as the basis for the creation of a public policy that institutionalises these principles in the mining sector.
The publication highlights five strategic areas for promoting gender equality in the Bolivian mining sector: i) equal participation in decision-making, ii) economic autonomy, income and job security, iii) promotion of a culture of equality, iv) governance, articulation and inter-institutional coordination, and v) sustainable development of mining territories. The roadmap reflects the commitment to advance the adoption of inclusive policies that promote gender equality in Bolivian mining.
