The report “Feminist Development Policy in the Raw Materials Sector” examines how feminist development principles can be applied to the mining and raw materials sector. Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the study analyzes gender inequalities across mineral supply chains and highlights the social and economic barriers faced by women, particularly in mining communities and artisanal mining activities. The report proposes policy and programmatic actions to strengthen women’s rights, improve access to resources and economic opportunities, and increase women’s participation in decision-making within the governance of natural resources. Its goal is to support more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable raw materials value chains.
