This document is the result of joint work between the Win Win Programme implemented by UN Women and the MinSus Programme carried out during 2021 on gender equality and equity to promote sustainable development. The document brings together the experiences and good practices of various companies, institutions and ministries from the mining and energy sectors to articulate a gender approach to sustainability and energy transition. These experiences were shared in the intersectoral dialogue ‘The role of women in building a more sustainable economy: experiences from the mining and energy sectors’ held virtually on 20 May 2021. The document also contains multiple references, data and arguments on the subject for further reading by interested readers.
