In the quest for gender equality and societal change, the transformative role of data, when applied accordingly, can be used to challenge dominant power imbalances and create social impact in communities. This research focuses specifically on African feminist movements working towards social justice. It explores the collection, sharing and use of digital data for social transformation. In this research project, we defined data as distinct pieces of information, stored as values of quantitative and qualitative variables, which can be machine-readable, human-readable or both.
