Location: Kings Mountain , NC – Lithium Site

Job Description

Albemarle Corporation is a leading global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered specialty chemicals.

The Kings Mountain Mining Project is a critical growth project to realize Albemarle’s 2030 strategy and desired market leadership position. It will consist of a mine, concentrator and the associated non process infrastructure to produce a spodumene concentrate.

Planning & Scheduling includes the development of summarized and detailed plans covering the entire scope of the project, including the establishment of achievable baselines which are used to monitor progress, identify trends, and plan for corrective or preventative actions to ultimately ensure the on-time delivery of the project’s objectives.  Specifically, planning involves the breakdown of work into its component events, to deliver the business objectives of the project as per the stakeholders’ requirements.  Scheduling addresses the detailed sequencing of activities, assignment of logical relationships between activities, development of activity durations and the assignment of resources – all to validate the achievability of the plan.

The function is accountable for ensuring the integration of multiple plans and schedules (frequently provided by both other business groups collaborating on the project and implementation contractors) and monitoring the interfaces and dependencies between them.  Planning & scheduling personnel are responsible for the development of schedule range models to assess risks to the project and uncertainties in activity duration to derive a range of end dates for the project as a basis for establishment of the project’s schedule contingency levels.
