Seeking a passionate, inspiring, and experienced leader for Metso Academy (a.k.a. MOTA). The purpose of Metso Academy is to drive Tier-1 learning, training, and professional growth for internal and external stakeholders. Metso Academy organisation Manages Five specialized academies focusing on a particular learning offering or customer group: Technical Academy, Sales & Business Academy, People Academy, Distributor Academy, and Customer Academy.

You will lead and oversee the academy’s strategic vision, operations, and alignment with organizational goals, ensuring effective learning, training, and development initiatives that enhance employee performance and support businesses to succeed. Metso Academy works closely with all Metso Business Areas and Market Areas. The Head of Metso Academy reports to the SVP of Integrated Service Solutions (ISS), and is part of the ISS leadership team.

This position can be located in one of Metso’s main locations, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements and the role includes up to 25% of travel per year.

What you’ll do

  • Drive the development of technical and sales competence and commercial training products
  • Overall responsibility for the Metso Academy’s operations, performance, and strategic alignment with the organization.
  • Develop and execute the overall vision, strategy, and direction of Metso Academy.
  • Ensure alignment of the academy’s objectives with the organization’s business goals and training needs.
  • Oversee the performance and operations of the academies and functions within the Metso Academy.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, business leaders, and external partners.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to academy heads and function heads.
  • Manage the budget and resources of Metso Academy
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programs and initiatives
  • Secure continuous improvement of professional growth experience
