CD Capital is looking for a Project Manager for one of its Canadian-based portfolio companies.

 

JOB TITLE: 

Project Manager (Please note, this is a position with a CD Capital portfolio company)

LOCATION: 

British Columbia, Canada

CONTRACT TYPE:

Initially on a Part Time basis, which may progress to Full Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary focus of this position is:

1. Site Management and Strategy Execution:

  • Oversee and monitor the project team as well as independent engineering consultants
  • Lead project site management activities, including any site work and maintenance activities, coordination of relevant stakeholders
  • Liaison with CD Capital and consultant teams to develop and implement project strategy
  • Oversee project execution which includes and is not limited to monitoring schedule and budget, stakeholder management, regulatory functions (including permitting and land tenure management), HSEC, procurement, engineering studies, and project risks management
  • Ensure project objectives are understood by the project team and stakeholders, with a key focus on deliverables

2. Project Sustainability and Stakeholder management:

  • Lead project sustainability and stakeholder management functions including community and First Nations engagement
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and community regulations and corporate standards
  • Integrate the input of all project stakeholders (both internal and external) in support of the project visions, goals, and KPI’s

3. Reporting:

  • Report activities regularly and efficiently to Board
  • Act as a primary point of contact for CD Capital London Team and provide updates, reports, presentations, lead site visits as required

KEY SKILLS:

  • Technical background (engineering/ geology/ metallurgy/ environmental focus)
  • Multi-disciplinary technical skills set– knowledge of mining technical areas including engineering/ geology/ processing/ finance & marketing technical areas
  • A passion for, and deep understanding of sustainable development – including forming and executing project sustainability programs
  • Strong management skills, including stakeholder management
  • Project strategy development and optimisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to deliver outstanding HSE results

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience managing and executing technical engineering studies
  • Experience in managing project sustainability strategies and stakeholder relationships including First Nation and local communities
  • Experience in developing mining projects in Canada including understanding environmental, social, and regulatory components
  • Negotiation of contracts and management of consultants
