Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As our Field Engineer, on a 2/1 FIFO roster working on site at Jabiru in the Northern Territory, you will undertake earthworks construction field engineering activities for the project.

It will be your responsibility to provide engineering assistance to Superintendents and Contractors, developing and managing site specific procedures. You will direct assigned personnel and Contractors in meeting cost and time schedules, verifying materials, equipment and quality, and assure results meet design requirements.

You will assist Construction Engineers, Superintendents and Contractors in:

  • interpreting design drawings
  • monitoring equipment installation and planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment
  • assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.

What You’re Good At:

To be successful in your role, you will require technical knowledge of earthworks field construction engineering, including cost, scheduling and contracts administration relating to the construction of infrastructure projects, preferably with roadway and mass grading elements.

You will have prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors, including knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractor’s responsibilities.

A formal offer of this site-based FIFO position will be contingent upon passing a medical examination.
