POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Capital Management & Project Delivery is responsible for optimizing capital priorities and ensuring project delivery across Eldorado Gold’s global portfolio of mining operations and development projects. This role will provide strategic leadership in evaluating investment opportunities, managing capital planning, and driving value creation, while maintaining alignment with corporate objectives and sustainability goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, Capital Management & Project Delivery will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Capital Management:
- Develop, communicate and execute the company’s capital allocation framework to align with strategic priorities.
- Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities to maximize shareholder value, considering risk, return, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with executive and site leadership to define and implement strategies for growth initiatives, sustaining capital, and exploration budgets.
- Act as the interface between operations and finance to ensure that AFE procedures are followed with high conformity.
- Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis to support investment decisions, portfolio optimization and forecasting project spend vs budget
Project Delivery:
- Drive continuous improvement, best practice adoption, and innovation within project delivery.
- Provide high-level reporting on project performance, forecasting, risks and opportunities, and strategic recommendations to the leadership team
- Implement and manage a comprehensive project framework to ensure project success.
- Establish and maintain best practices in project planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor project performance to ensure compliance with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Proactively identify and address risks, delays, or cost overruns, recommending and executing corrective actions.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Co-ordinate and support site project managers in project processes and capital management.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance and other functions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior executives on capital investment and project performance.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organization.

- Collaborate with Environmental and Health and Safety teams to incorporate safety and sustainability practices into project design and execution

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in capital allocation, project processes, or related roles, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.
- Demonstrated experience in managing capital planning and project processes for large-scale, complex projects.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with expertise in evaluating investment opportunities and presenting strategic recommendations.
- Proven leadership and communication skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools.
- Familiarity with global mining industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability practices.
- International travel to project sites and regional offices as needed, up to 30%.
