The Role
The Financial Accountant role will be primarily responsible for the completion of payroll accounting, including preparation of general ledger reconciliations, month end reporting and assistance with regulatory returns as required.
Areas of Responsibilities
- Month end reporting including accrual accounting and accounting for prepayments.
- Preparation of general ledger reconciliations.
- Journal preparation
- Accounting for fixed assets including IFRS 16.
- Accounting for inventory.
- Liaising with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting team.
- Provision of accounting advice to other business divisions.
- Audit and Tax queries.
- Local Internal control lead – Bwise.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
Your profile
- This role would be ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career.
- You have a tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting with an Accounting Certification (MIA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) and more than 5 years of experience in a large corporate environment.
- You are comfortable working with MS Excel and Power BI with the ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- You are customer focused, with excellent attention to detail and committed to strict levels of confidentiality.
- You can prioritise your work to meet key deliverables and are a team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
