HR Director, Rotary Drilling Division

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has a unique opportunity for a Human Resources Director at the Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, FL. (USA)

Rotary Drilling Division is an emerging market leader of rotary drills, and technical support and solutions for the surface mining industry. To serve our customers we work in close co-operation with the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Sales Areas. We have strong customer focus and safety as core values.

We are now looking for an innovative and results-oriented Director, Human Resources for our Division. This is a global role based in Alachua, Florida and reporting to the President of Rotary Drilling Division. You are a member of the Rotary Drilling Division management team, as well as the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions HR council.

Your mission

  • Your primary areas of focus will be to lead the Business Unit and hosted Sales Area(s) in developing key, strategic performance objectives; leading efforts to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace, driving organizational excellence, digitalization, and efficiencies to support business performance. In this role, you will be a leading influencer to secure that Sandvik Rotary Drilling remains a great place to work.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Contribute to the development of the organization´s Business Strategy. Provide HR expertise and support to the achievement of strategic business goals. Provide strategic HR support for the hosted sales area(s).
  • Develop and secure the implementation of the People Strategy within the organization. Ensure and support competence and people development within the Division as part of the people strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with global policies, local legislations, and labor agreements in relation with local HR resources.
  • Source and facilitate the provision of services from other parts of HR.
  • Develop, implement, and secure follow-through on the measures and activities needed to develop a culture of a high performing organization.
  • Manage and secure follow through of core HR policies and processes such as Talent & Succession Management, Performance Management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Resourcing.
  • Act as a change agent within the area of responsibility. Support managers in driving change by offering expertise and tools.
  • Communicate HR strategy initiatives and process updates to managers and employees.

Your character

You have a suitable educational background (master’s degree) and minimum of ten years’ experience within the HR field and its processes. Relevant industry experience is required. You have excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills. Your way of working is proactive, consultative, and business oriented. You are used to work well with tight deadlines and changing priorities and in an international environment. You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, customer, and market/business focus, with strong sense of efficiency and people management. As we act in a global business environment, this role requires fluent English language skills and willingness to travel. Must be able to legally work in the United States.
