Eramet’s Procurement Department is seeking a Category Manager Industrial Equipment. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Director for Industrial Equipment and Services and working closely with site lead buyers, the Category Manager will also be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the industrial supplies portfolio. They will negotiate and administer category contracts for the Group, in compliance with the purchasing charter, CSR charter, and set objectives. Across all sites, the Category Manager contributes to achieving the results of the purchasing categories under their responsibility, striving to control and optimize costs and the operational performance (safety, quality, deadlines, CSR) of suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze service expenditures by category, country, and region.
  • Identify opportunities for value creation by understanding the specific needs of the sites.
  • Conduct category mapping for each industrial equipment category.
  • Draft strategies that include mappings, analyses, supplier panels, value creation plans, market shares, and contracts.
  • Support site Buyers in implementing strategies.
  • Develop category management strategies to support the Group’s needs, focusing on cost reduction and TCO initiatives.
  • Define a target supplier panel.
  • Organize tenders, analyze costs, and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Define relevant performance indicators and action plans.
  • Develop and manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Work with the legal department to draft agreements that incorporate technical, commercial, innovation, and sustainability expectations.
  • Participate in the development of KPIs and activity reports.
  • Design and capitalize on best practices among subsidiaries.
  • Ensure compliance with Eramet’s CSR and ethics charters.

Your profile:

  • Higher education degree Bac+5 with a specialization in Purchasing.
  • Over 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong expertise in Category Management, markets, and purchasing strategy, particularly in the mining sector and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with reporting tools is an asset.
  • Analytical mindset with a strategic vision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage various stakeholders (internal clients and suppliers) at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze and formulate precise conclusions to support decisions related to the Industrial Equipment category.
  • Strong motivation for a dynamic and international environment, with a firm commitment to ownership and achieving results.
  • Integrity and business ethics are essential.
