Purpose of Role

The SHE Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining programs and policies that provide safe & sustainable working conditions in compliance with SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) legislation and internal Weir standards. Supporting and coordinating all SHE related activities within region and supporting wider Divisional & Group initiatives on our journey towards Zero Harm. This role included 30-50% travel in CAN and US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement SHE Strategy: Contribute to and execute the deployment of Weir Group SHE Strategy across the North America region of the ESCO Division, ensuring active participation by all Senior Leaders and stakeholders. Lead, coach, partner with, and provide direction to ESCO managers, employees and SHE resources throughout North America on SHE strategy and performance goals.
  • Support Risk Assessment: Collaborate with site teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies. Foster a proactive approach to risk management, encouraging continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices to minimize risks and enhance safety performance.
  • Influence Change: Lead and embed a multi-strand strategic culture change, Zero Harm Behavior Framework with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (executive to shop floor)
  • Interpret Data and Trends: Actively interpret SHE trend analysis and statistics providing insights to leaders and develop alternate solutions to improve SHE performance. Prepare regional monthly reports outlining SHE performance, trends and corrective action
  • Site Visits and Support:  Plan and direct site self-assessments and recommended actions for the correction of hazardous situations. Provide guidance toward the development of the SHE resources and skills necessary to achieve our continuous performance improvement.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of SHE experience in an operations or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with culture change, USA and Canada SHE legislation and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to share and engage others in vision of the business
  • Experience with management and handling multiple sites
