Currently, we have an opening for a Director of Business Development, Market Intelligence, and Strategy. This strategic role will be pivotal in driving the development and execution of business growth plans, conducting in-depth market research, and coordinating efforts across internal teams within a matrix organization. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights, support growth initiatives, and strengthen Sandvik’s market position.

What you will be doing

  • Create and implement business development strategies to meet Sandvik’s financial growth goals, identifying and prioritizing new opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead and drive the change management process, supporting market expansion and business transformation efforts that align with Sandvik’s long-term objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analyses to assess new business opportunities and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to coordinate growth projects, ensuring alignment with Sandvik’s value propositions and competitive advantages.
  • Provide critical support in sales forecasting, business plan development, and CRM pipeline management to promote strong, data-backed business decisions.
  • Oversee key external partnerships and ensure alignment with Sandvik’s strategic priorities in digital transformation, sustainability, customer-first initiatives, and agility.
  • Build trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and external partners, demonstrating a customer-centric approach and collaborative team spirit.
  • Foster strong relationships with Business Line Managers, Sales, and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective business development efforts.
  • Serve as a role model, exemplifying Sandvik’s values and fostering a results-oriented, customer-focused culture.
  • Stay informed on market trends and customer needs, ensuring high satisfaction through Sandvik’s value, performance, and reliability.

What you will bring along

  • A strong background in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in business development and strategic planning, ideally within technical or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to analyze market data and competitive landscapes, translating insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building collaborative relationships and driving partnerships.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a matrix organization, balancing multiple projects and priorities with accountability.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset, along with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Availability to travel as needed (up to 25% per year).
