Nous sommes à la recherche d’un Expert – projets majeurs qui œuvrera sous la responsabilité du VP Projets spéciaux. Le titulaire du poste est responsable du développement de notre portefeuille de projets stratégiques, de l’ordre de grandeur, en passant par la préfaisabilité et la faisabilité jusqu’à l’étape d’ingénierie détaillée et exécute le projet selon les règles de sécurité d’ArcelorMittal. Ce rôle comprend une interaction et une collaboration importante avec l’équipe de direction de l’organisation. Les compétences essentielles comprennent la réflexion stratégique, le sens aigu de l’industrie et des affaires, la vision et le leadership du changement, la communication efficace et les compétences interpersonnelles ainsi que l’intégrité et la transparence

Principales responsabilités

  • Promeut et intègre la culture du programme Leadership courageux d’ArcelorMittal dans les projets;
  • S’assure que tous les aspects de la mise en œuvre du projet respectent les politiques, les procédures et les normes de gestion de la santé, de la sécurité, de l’environnement et de la communauté (HSE) d’ArcelorMittal;
  • Veille à ce que toutes les approbations gouvernementales et réglementaires à obtenir soient identifiées, définies et dotées de ressources adéquates afin de les obtenir en temps opportun;
  • Stimule la culture axée sur la sécurité, le développement durable, l’innovation et l’excellence dans l’exécution des projets;
  • Gère les relations globales avec plusieurs entrepreneurs EPCM, entrepreneurs spécialisés et consultants;
  • Fournit régulièrement des mises à jour aux directeurs de projets et aux vice-présidents concernés;
  • Contribue à fournir des informations sur le plan quinquennal du groupe de développement de projets conformément aux directives.

Exigences

  •  Membre en règle de l’Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • 15 ans d’expérience pertinente en développement et en exécution de projets majeurs;
  • Certification PMP ou tout autre certification en gestion de projet;
  • Fortes habiletés de communication;
  • Très bonne connaissance de la langue anglaise;
  • Leadership éprouvé;
  • MBA complété, un atout;
  • Expérience en milieu minier, un atout

We are looking for an Major Projects Expert who will work under the responsibility of the VP Special Projects. The role holder is responsible for the development of our strategic project portfolio, from order of magnitude, through pre-feasibility and feasibility to the detailed engineering stage and executes the project according to safety regulations. ‘ArcelorMittal. This role includes significant interaction and collaboration with the organization’s leadership team. Essential skills include strategic thinking, industry and business acumen, vision and change leadership, effective communication and interpersonal skills and integrity and transparency

Main responsibilities

  • Promotes and integrates the culture of ArcelorMittal’s Courageous Leadership program into projects;
  • Ensures that all aspects of project implementation comply with ArcelorMittal Health, Safety, Environmental and Community (HSE) management policies, procedures and standards;
  • Ensures that all government and regulatory approvals to be obtained are identified, defined and adequately resourced in order to obtain them in a timely manner;
  • Stimulates the culture focused on safety, sustainable development, innovation and excellence in project execution;
  • Manages overall relationships with multiple EPCM contractors, specialty contractors and consultants;
  • Provides regular updates to relevant project directors and vice presidents;
  • Contributes to providing information on the project development group’s five-year plan as directed.

Requirements

  •  Member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ);
  • 15 years of relevant experience in the development and execution of major projects;
  • PMP certification or any other certification in project management;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Very good knowledge of the English language;
  • Proven leadership;
  • Completed MBA, an asset;
  • Experience in a mining environment, an asset

ABOUT THE TEAM
ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc.
In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa.
These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia.
Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
