Manager, Underground Mine Planning
Location: Vancouver Preferred, but open to diverse candidates across Canada.
Reports to: Director, Technical Services

POSITION SUMMARY
As Manager, Underground Mine Planning, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the Company’s underground mines and projects, including performing project evaluations and analyses, assisting with and/or managing engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility), and reporting on proposed and existing projects. The Manager, Underground Mine Planning will work closely with corporate and site technical teams, contribute to strategic outlooks, and advise on short- and long-term planning and operational performance at the Company’s underground mines and advanced projects. This position is also responsible for assisting with the development of standardized reporting requirements and reviews of the Company’s Resources and Reserves.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager, Underground Mine Planning will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Recognize, promote, and implement global best practices and innovation in mine planning and operational performance at the Company’s underground mines and advanced projects.
• Provide support to mine operations with respect to Life of Mine plan optimization and scenario analysis.
• Preparing projects, economic evaluations and execution schedules that allow greater productivity and optimization.
• Assisting with identification of potential problems and opportunities; and using engineering approaches to enhance outcomes for the operations.
• Maintain and seek improvement of planning systems by identifying opportunities for improvement and formulating new alternatives.
• Performing sensitivity analysis on mining plans and cost models to determine the profitability and sensitivity to variations.
• Contributing to technical studies for projects (PEA, PFS, FS) and optimization studies by completing or assisting with the following:
o Equipment analysis and studies to estimate mining equipment requirements,
o Performing trade-off economic analysis and cost estimations on proposed mine projects,
o 3D design work, including the competency to manipulate geological block models,
o Processing Mineable Shape Optimizer (SO) algorithm,
o Selection of optimum stope and development design, with ability to sequence and schedule designs using Deswik,
o Working with and/or leading teams of consultants to ensure that the final product satisfies Eldorado and other regulatory requirements.
• Reviewing short and long-term production plans for the Company’s underground mines and development projects, and when requested, other projects of interest.
• Reconciling plans and actual production of the Company’s underground mines.
• Provide required data for budgeting and cost follow-up.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with site personnel and consultants through regular briefings and meetings to foster healthy communication with clear targets, objectives, and actions.
• Hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public, the protection of the environment and promote health and safety within the workplace.
• Communicate effectively with operations and support groups within Greece, Turkiye and Quebec and the Corporate Office to ensure effective coordination of operational company objectives.
• Work with the Company’s underground mine and advanced project teams to develop scope-of-work and budgets of third-party consultants and help with management of the same.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor of Applied Science or Mining Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• Experience in underground mine engineering and operations (+5 years).
• Member of a NI43-101 recognized Professional Association.
• Exposure to multiple mining methods and different orebody systems.
• General knowledge of all aspects of mining (resource models, grade control, and mineral processing).
• Sound knowledge of computerized block modeling and mine planning software and spreadsheets.
• Sound knowledge of underground optimization and scheduling software.
• Experience in international environments is considered an asset.
• Team player with excellent personal skills and the confidence to motivate teams within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
• Ability and willingness to travel and work internationally.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple evaluations across multiple operations.
