Job Purpose:
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory operations to ensure accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain. This role involves monitoring inventory, conducting audits, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Inventory Strategy & Policy: Implement and follow inventory policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MRO items, scrap, and auctionable assets, ensuring alignment with corporate Material Management guidelines.
- Inventory Accuracy & Control:Maintain and update inventory records using ERP inventory management system. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordination with Supply Chain: Involvement in strategic coordination with procurement and logistics for efficient flow of goods.
- Stock Optimization: Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations as per defined reorder points, and safety stock to minimize surplus and avoid stock-outs for critical items.
- Scrap and Auction Support: Assist in the classification, documentation, and disposal/auction process for scrap and surplus materials, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Systems & Data Integrity: Maintain accurate inventory data in the Oracle Fusion Inventory ERP system and Warehouse Management System (WMS), including material movements and transactional history.
- Internal Customer Service & Support: Liaise with warehouse, maintenance, and production teams to ensure timely material availability and resolution of inventory issues.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all inventory activities comply with internal controls, QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) standards, and external regulations.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
- 5 – 10 years of progressive experience in Materials Management, Inventory Control or supply chain .
