WinRSA & WIMnet joint mentoring pilot program closes Friday 21 August at 5pm

The joint mentoring pilot program expressions of interest close Friday 21 August at 5pm.

The program is a pilot to determine the suitability of a formal mentoring program within the state and has been initiated to support South Australian women within the resources industry. It is designed to provide mentees with a low-cost yet semi-structured opportunity to connect with more experienced individuals who are in a position to support them from a professional and personal development perspective.

Expressions of interest are sought from both mentees and mentors who fulfil the following requirements:

Mentees (females only)

  • at least 3 years of working experience
  • willingness to commit to an 8-month program
  • availability to participate in a minimum of six mentoring sessions during the program
  • a strong interest in developing their career in the resources industry

Mentors (males and females)

  • at least 5 years of working experience
  • willingness to commit to an 8-month program
  • availability to participate in a minimum of six mentoring sessions on a voluntary basis during the program

Important information

  • Program starts in September 2015 and ends in April 2016
  • Only 15 mentors and 15 mentees accepted for the pilot program based on suitability and appropriate pairing
  • Nominal fee of $150 per mentee is to be paid once mentee is accepted into the program
  • Program includes a launch event, mid-program review and close-out function to end the formal mentoring timeline
  • Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Friday 21 August 2015.

How to Register
If you wish to be a mentor or mentee, firstly review the program handbook (Part 1 only)  and then fill out the expression of interest form by Friday 21 August 2015.

Those who apply will be notified whether they have been accepted into the program by Friday, 28 August 2015 with the launch event scheduled to occur in mid-September 2015. Mentees will be issued an invoice at the time with payment required to secure their program place.
