In honour of Julia’s memory and recognition of her impact on the industry, Women in Mining BC has created the Julia Lane Rising Star Award. We are so pleased to present the award at this reception.

We are so pleased to announce the inaugural recipient for this award is Danielle Mountjoy.
Danielle Mountjoy is a geologist and currently an associate analyst at Sun Valley Gold LLC with 9 years of experience in the mining industry. She has 6 years of broad geological experience from exploration to mine geology across a diversity of commodities (gold, copper, base metals) in Australia, Chile, BC and the Yukon.
As a member of the research team at Sun Valley, she identifies investment opportunities for the fund.
Danielle spends her time giving back to the community by serving on the AME Roundup Conference Organizing Committee and as a mentee for AME’s Mentorship Program.
She recently began volunteering for Threads of Life, a charity dedicated to supporting families affected by workplace tragedies. She also serves as co-chair of the organization’s Vancouver Steps for Life awareness walk, which takes place in May 2020.
