Carmen Melis – Lead Engineer, Geo-Environmental, Geo-Environmental Engineering

A hands-on demonstration of how tailings are generated, how Rabbit Lake Operation’s tailings management facilities are designed and operated, and what the plans are to decommission them.

Carmen has worked full-time as an engineer in consulting and mining since obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 2002.  For the past 11 years, Carmen has been with Cameco’s Geo-Environmental Engineering group, providing engineering support and oversight to Cameco’s Saskatchewan operations in the areas of tailings and mine waste management.

Facilities for this event have kindly been provided by Cameco.
