Fireside Chat

Registration: click here

Join a fireside chat featuring four of the world’s most inspirational women in mining, presented by WIMARQ, AusIMM WIMnet and Women In Mining UK.

The panelists are among the WIM100 alumni.

Once a WIM100, always a WIM100. Becoming a WIM100 alumni is a wonderful accolade, although such a tribute never comes for free.

There is an unwritten responsibility that once those names are published in the global inspirational 100 Women-in-Mining biennial, those WIM100 alumni strive towards the goal of improved representation for women in the mining industry.

We encourage you to listen to the stories of our panelists and nominate an amazing woman you know for the next WIM100 cohort.

Panellists are:

• Jo-Anne Dudley, Chief Operating Officer, Turquoise Hill Resources

• Maria Joyce , Head Of Business Planning, BHP (WIMARQ immediate past Chair)

• Deborah Caudle, Managing Director, Regional Co-Head Metals & Mining Asia Pacific, Société Générale (WIMNet NSW; WIM UK Global Outreach)

• Melinda Moore, Chief Commercial Officer Sydvaranger Drift; Global Outreach Head & Finance Director, Women in Mining UK

The session will be moderated by WIMARQ’s Caroline Morrissey (Manager Gender Diversity Queensland Resources Council).

The panel is looking forward to discussing how the WIM100 has helped shape their lives as working resources sector professionals and as women, and what they are doing to ensure younger women (as well as those of all generations) gain the recognition, promotion and respect they deserve across the mining globe.

What is WIM100?

WIM100 is a living history of women who work in mining around the world.

Through their stories, they show us how they have persevered in the face of adversity, how they have found solutions to challenges, and how they are empowering others by being a voice and leader for a more successful and sustainable mining industry. Their stories provide inspiration and valuable insight for all.

A WIM100 woman:

• is a trail-blazer – making positive impactful changes so the industry is more responsibly; successful; sustainably; inclusively

• is resilient and determined; finding solutions to challenges and perseveres in the face of adversity

• demonstrates leadership; advocates and empowers to ensure everyone feels heard, welcomed and respected…she’s got your back…

Nominations are open until 30 June 2020 (midnight GMT).

The results will be announced on 19 November 2020, supported by a “Future Worlds” symposium to welcome all 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining for 2020.

The Nominations form – simple to complete – is available here.
