Join us and hear our panel discussion on how a new generation of consumers are pushing the sustainability agenda forward.

About this Event

The majority of the mining industry has always been removed from its end users. This has led to consumers misunderstanding the value that the sector creates and the role it plays in the overall quality of the life we enjoy.

In this panel, sponsored by Buchanan, our panellists will discuss how a new generation of consumers are pushing the sustainability agenda forward. Topics will include how miners have worked with consumers, how artisanal and small-scale miners are affected, where the discussion about ethical and sustainable mining is likely to go, and how much this discussion is helping remedy misconceptions about the mining industry’s role and value in the world.

Moderator:

Ariadna D. Peretz – Director at Buchanan and Head of Communications at Women in Mining UK

Speakers:

Charlie Betts, Group Managing Director of Betts Group and Founder of Single Mine Origin

Michillay Brown, Industry Transformation Lead at Tracr (part of De Beers)

Yulia Chekunaeva, Director, Capital Markets at En+ Group

Michèle Brülhart, Executive Director of The Copper Mark
