PARTNERSHIPS TO ACHIEVE THE S IN ESG – A CASE STUDY
Featuring
Rebecca Darling, Senior Director of Social Responsibility at Newmont with special guest Sharon Wagner, Director of Corporate Philanthropy at Project CURE.
TOPIC
Recently and increasingly, mining companies and their suppliers are expected to make meaningful contributions to the well-being of the communities where they operate, but not all companies have a full complement of social performance teams to navigate these expectations and implement corresponding programs. Newmont’s Rebecca Darling, Senior Director of Social Responsibility, will briefly introduce these concepts of what some of the expectations are, discuss what priorities for affected communities typically are, and introduce how and why Newmont – even with a full function focused team on social performance – looks for partners with proven capabilities and who deliver outcomes aligned with community priorities and needs. One of those partners is Project CURE, and their own Sharon Wagner, Director of Corporate Philanthropy, will give a deeper dive into their operations and long-standing partnership with Newmont.
