Join Isabel Fay Barton, Assistant Professor of the Mining & Geological Engineering Department at the University of Arizona, who will be discussing the Drone-Based Hyperspectral Imagery! The advent of commercial drone technology has enabled close-range imaging of mine highwalls in visible, infrared, and LiDAR. This talk will describe a case study using drone-based hyperspectral imaging, coupled with radar monitoring, to examine mineralogical and structural causes of a past highwall movement at Asarco’s Ray mine.
