The global peer-learning workshop on advancing gender equality in the extractives sector through EITI implementation, jointly organised by the EITI and the Gender Justice and Extractives Industries Working Group will be on May 26th from noon until 3pm UTC.

The event aims to provide guidance and share best practice on the EITI’s gender provisions to support more inclusive extractive sector governance. Drawing on the expertise of civil society partners and EITI practitioners, the event will focus on four themes:

• Gendered impacts of corruption;
• Advancing women’s rights through reporting;
• Gender in extractive sector policies and legal frameworks;
• Managing social and economic benefits.
