Webinar Launch: Addressing the underrepresentation of women on Boards

Dear members of the International Women in Mining Community:

We are thrilled to announce our first Women on Boards Webinar Series! The Webinar Series are part of a larger Women on Boards Project aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of women on the Boards of Directors within the mining industry globally.

Details of the programme can be found here

We firmly believe there are many women in the mining and related industries with the credentials and experience to build value for mining companies as Board members who aren’t getting the chances they deserve. The two main impediments to their success is a lack of governance education and a plan to promote themselves for this role. International WIM Community’s Women on Boards Project is launching the webinar series to address this knowledge and skills gap. Facilitated by professional and business leaders, the series will provide substantive learning opportunities as well as training in soft skills to build brand, leverage networks and navigate the Director selection process.

The existing Director Education Programmes which deliver excellent content generally require the participants to travel to the classroom location, are very expensive, and do not have a particular industry focus. The Women on Boards Webinar Series will be a platform to allow women in the mining industry across the globe to share experiences and exchange ideas about their businesses and career paths.  This is why we have put together a unique and affordable programme that can be the foundation of an action plan to launch your Board career. We hope that our members can join us in this exciting project and continue their successful journey in the mining industry!

The first session will be held on the 26th of May.
